Webinar on 'The Relevance of the Russell-Einstein Manifesto' on July 13, co-hosted by the World Academy of Art and Science & Nizami Ganjavi International Center.
On July 9, 1955, Bertrand Russell and Albert Einstein released a ground-breaking statement known as the Russell-Einstein Manifesto. The statement highlighted the extreme risk of a nuclear war that could destroy civilisation, and argued that to eliminate this threat, humanity had to renounce war and to use ‘peaceful means for the settlement of all matters of dispute between them.‘
This webinar on July 13 will bring together a diverse group of policy makers, former political leaders, analysts and civil society leaders to examine the messages from the Russell-Einstein Manifesto and discuss their relevance and feasibility in today's political climate.
